FCC Media Bureau Republishes Reg Fee Fact Sheet: Corrects Errors for LPTV, Class A TV and TV Translator Fees – Fees Due by September 24 @11:59 PM

Last week, the FCC’s Media Bureau republished its fact sheet regarding regulatory fees for broadcast stations.  Importantly, it corrected its previous fact sheet with respect to fees for LPTV, Class A TV, and TV Translators.  The per-license fee for each of these services is $255.  A previous fact sheet has the wrong amount.  This amount reflects the fee amount listed in the original Regulatory Fee Order issued by the FCC in August.

Stations are encouraged to look at the Media Bureaus fact sheet carefully.  It outlines the amounts and process for payment. Some highlights:

  • The FCC discontinued the use of the Fee Filer system and incorporated this payment system into the Commission Registration System (CORES). To use CORES, you need to be registered with the FCC here. This is a new process, so stations should examine the payment procedures carefully.

  • Media licensees and permit holders owe regulatory fees for each license or permit held as of October 1, 2025, even if the license or permit expired after October 1, 2025. In instances where a license or permit is transferred or assigned after October 1, 2025, the fee must be paid by the party that is the licensee or permit holder on the date that the fee payment is due.

The Media Bureau's Fact Sheet contains detailed informant about the payment process and amounts owed. You can access the Media Bureau’s September 9th Fact Sheet here.

The fees owed by full-service TV stations are listed here.
