Local broadcasting is essential to job creation and the Empire State's economic health and job creation. Radio and television stations account for $81.96 billion in direct, indirect, and simulative economic activity in New York State. This translates to more than 160,000 jobs across the state. Jobs in the broadcast industry generally fall into five categories: production, news, sales, engineering, and administration.
