Broadcasters' FCC Reg Fees Due September 24 at 11:59 PM

The FCC has released its decision regarding regulatory fees for 2026.  Despite the efforts of state broadcasters’ associations and the NAB, the fee will increase for many stations, especially TV.  The FCC increased TV station fees by approximately 6.2% from last year.  Full power radio will also see an increase in fees.  However, fees will decrease for LPTV, Class A, TV/FM translators, and FM boosters.  Balancing these out means there will be a small increase in fees across the board.

Regulatory fee payments must be received by the Commission no later than 11:59 PM, Eastern Daylight Time, on September 24, 2026.  Stations, at their own discretion, may submit payments at any time before the FY 2026 regulatory fees due date.

The 2026 Television fees for each station are listed by call letter and can be found in the Regulatory Fee Order at Appendix F (page 51).  The fees are also listed on the TV list and Media Bureau Fact sheet (see below).

Radio station fees for 2026 can be found in the Regulatory Fee Order at Appendix B (page 38).  The fees are also listed on the Media Bureau Fact sheet (see below).

The FCC did not change any of the exemption categories.  Non-profit stations, with an IRS non-profit determination letter, do not have to pay regulatory fees.  In addition, the FCC maintained its de minimus exemption for stations that would have fees under $1000.00 (see below)
