SERVING NEW YORK

Every year, NYSBA celebrates local broadcasters’ commitment to serving their communities. We also honor the public service groups that work with local stations to improve the quality of life in communities throughout the Empire State. We recognize commercial, non-commercial, and college stations for their efforts. Honorees receive the famous NYSBA Crystal Bowl.

To be recognized, submit no more than a one or two-paragraph description of your public interest program or campaign. In addition, please add any relevant social media links and photos you may have. The submission may be an on-air or an off-air campaign. If it is an on-air public service campaign, please include a link to the video or audio in your email. Please select your best public service campaign and send it to ddonovan@nysbroadcasters.org by September 2, 2023.

To qualify for an award, the public interest project:

  • May include on-air as well as off-air projects

  • Should have taken place during the period between September 1, 2022, and September 2, 2023.

Stations are encouraged to invite a public interest group they have worked with during the past year. Attending representatives of your invited public interest groups will also be presented with an award.

Stations must be present at the luncheon to receive a Serving New York award!
