Three New York Radio Professionals Named Finalists for 2026 Radio Wayne Awards

Three New York radio professionals from Cox Media Group’s Long Island operation have been named finalists for the prestigious 2026 Radio Wayne Awards, which recognize excellence among the sales, management and support professionals who help drive the radio industry’s success.

Christine Marshall is a finalist for Streetfighter (Salesperson) of the Year, Karen Maffetone is nominated in the Support Staff category, and Sal Abatemarco is a finalist for DOS/Sales Manager, Nielsen Market Rank 1-20. All three represent Cox Media Group’s Nassau-Suffolk (Long Island) market.

Now in their 34th year, the Radio Wayne Awards are named in honor of legendary broadcaster “Radio Wayne” Cornils, who began his career as a small-market broadcaster before going on to serve as Executive Vice President of the Radio Advertising Bureau and Senior Vice President of Radio at the National Association of Broadcasters.

The awards celebrate the “streetfighters,” digital sellers, managers and support professionals whose work helps generate revenue and strengthen radio stations and their communities across the country.

Winners will be announced live during NAB Show New York on October 21 at the Javits Center in Manhattan.
