As we reported previously, the departure of Commissioners Simington and Stark left the FCC with only two Commissioners. As a result, the FCC currently lacks a quorum and is unable to make any new policy changes.
This situation is about to change. Senate Majority Leader John Thune decided to move forward with FCC Nominee Olivia Trusty’s nomination. We expect a vote before the full Senate today or tomorrow. Her confirmation will give the FCC a quorum. It will now be able to move forward to implement FCC Chairman Carr’s agenda.
