More FCC Action Against Pirates in New York


The Enforcement Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission just released a number of enforcement decisions against illegal pirate radio stations in the New York City Metro Area.  We applaud the FCC’s continued efforts to eliminate unlicensed “pirate” radio stations.  A special thank you to the FCC’s New York Field office for their tremendous work in addressing this vexing problem.  The most recent actions are as follows.


Spring Valley, NY - 90.5 FM

The FCC issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture (NAL) of $20,000 for operating an unauthorized radio station, known as “Radio Gold Stars,” on 90.5 MHz in Spring Valley, New York.

Spring Valley, NY – 88.9 FM

The FCC issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture (NAL) of $20,000 for operating an unauthorized radio station, known as “Radio Model” or “Radio Tele Model” on 88.9 MHz in Spring Valley, New York.

Brooklyn, NY - 106.3 FM

The FCC issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture (NAL) of $20,000 against for operating an unauthorized radio station, known as “Wild FM” on 106.3 MHz in Brooklyn, New York.

Irvington, NJ - 98.5 FM

The FCC issued a Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture (NAL) of $20,000 for operating an unauthorized radio station, known as “Powerhouse Radio,” on 98.5 MHz in Irvington, New Jersey (Station).
