Mike Igoe Promoted to Full Professor at SUNY Fredonia

Longtime Western New York broadcaster Mike Igoe has reached a new milestone in his second career. On September 1, he was promoted to full Professor in the Communication Department at SUNY Fredonia, where he has taught since fall 2013.
Igoe's work in the classroom has drawn consistent recognition. During his time at Fredonia, he has earned five awards from the Broadcast Education Association for instructional videos he produced, and a colon cancer PSA he developed was honored by the New York State Broadcasters Association.
His 20-year academic career also includes teaching at Buffalo State University and three years in China. Igoe is an attorney as well, admitted to the New York State Bar.
Before stepping into academia, Igoe spent 30 years in television as a consumer reporter, 20 of them at WGRZ TV in Buffalo, where viewers came to know him well. Earlier in his career, he reported at KARE TV in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, and WNEP TV in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania.
Congratulations to Mike on this well-deserved honor, and on a career that continues to shape the next generation of broadcasters.
