The FCC has sent Unlicensed Notices to property owners regarding three illegal pirate stations operating in New York. The FCC sent notices to the following property owners that had pirate stations operating on their property. Notices were sent to the following locations:
88.9 FM – Spring Valley
90.9 – Spring Valley
90.9 MHz Irvington, New Jersey
The Notices indicate that the property owners may be liable for more than $2.4 million dollars for knowingly allowing illegal radio operations to continue. The Notices ask the property owners for the names of the illegal pirate stations.
We strongly support the FCC’s continued enforcement activity with respect to illegal pirate stations.
