Last week, the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau issued the first of its 2024 Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) audit letters to randomly selected radio and television stations. The Enforcement Bureau annually audits the EEO programs of randomly selected broadcast licensees. Each year, approximately five percent of all radio and television stations are selected for EEO audits.
The deadline for stations to upload audit responses to their FCC-hosted online public inspection files is May 6, 2024. As a reminder, the Enforcement Bureau will no longer issue letters to licensees upon completion of our review of audit responses. If questions arise during staff review, the Enforcement Bureau will contact the licensee.
