While stepping down as president after 15 years, Donovan will remain with NYSBA for the next two years as a senior policy advisor. He will focus on legislative affairs and continue to represent NYSBA in Washington and Albany. The move ensures continuity in NYSBA’s representation. Donovan stated:
"Heidi is a tremendous choice for NYSBA. She will do an outstanding job. Today, there are a myriad of complex New York State legislative matters, many of which involve AI’s impact on broadcasting. We need to get the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act passed this year. We want to make sure there is an orderly and consistent approach going forward. I look forward to working with Heidi to provide New York’s broadcasters with the best representation in Albany and Washington."
Raphael and Donovan will be coordinating over the next few months to map out legislative strategy and plans.
