About the Role
Radio Catskill is looking for an experienced, community-minded journalist to join our local news
team as a Morning Edition host and part-time reporter with a focus on local government and
community news in Delaware County.
We’re a small, collaborative newsroom serving the Catskills and Northeast Pennsylvania, where
local stories matter and public service journalism comes first. We’re looking for someone who
brings curiosity, clarity, and a conversational on-air presence.
This is a part-time position (25 hours per week, $22 per hour) based in our coverage area,
with early morning hours required for hosting duties at our Roxbury or Liberty studios. Additional
flexibility for reporting assignments, including occasional evenings or weekends, is expected
Requirements
● Host local cut-ins during Morning Edition and anchor morning newscasts twice weekly
(exact days TBA)
● Report and produce stories on local government and accountability, including policy,
budgets, and outcomes
● Write clear, engaging broadcast copy under deadline
● Conduct live and recorded interviews
● Develop sources across local government
● Contribute digital stories to our website
● Assist with breaking news and special coverage as needed
● Participate in station events and fundraising efforts
Experience
Experience in public radio or broadcast journalism, including hosting and reporting
Strong writing and audio production skills
Comfort with live on-air work and interviewing
Understanding of journalistic ethics and best practices
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a small newsroom
Interest in government reporting and its impact on rural communities
Familiarity with the Catskills region is a plus
