Description: Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial Planning, the Director, Financial Planning will be responsible for monitoring, preparing and coordinating the development of WNET’s annual operating and capital budgets, as well as providing multi-year financial projections and cash flow management.

Responsibilities include:
• Under the direction of the Director, Financial Planning, the Assistant Director will prepare and coordinate the development of WNET’s annual operating and capital budgets, and monitor throughout the fiscal year to analyze trends affecting budget allocations.
• Monitor and oversee all activity and expenditures against the established plan, anticipating and noting any variances, recommending corrective action as necessary and implementing approved modifications.
• Routinely update the financial management system to provide pertinent financial information to department heads and senior management.
• Align certain accounting principles, including contributions and investment accounting, to prepare detailed financial and budgetary analyses.
• Review, analyze and interpret financial data. Prepare analyses of complex resource issues, as well as business initiatives, providing budget recommendations in response to a wide range of issues to management.
• Responsible for the preparation of all strategic and financial plan analyses, including multi-year forecasting.
• Prepare various Federal, State and other government reporting.

To qualify, candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience with minimum of 5 years of demonstrated, solid financial management experience; previous experience in a non-profit is preferred. In addition, candidates must have demonstrated skill in quantitative financial analysis and budgetary control, with thorough working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices with an emphasis on fund accounting.

Additional qualifications include:
• Strong advanced technical experience in the use of financial software to develop and maintain financial models and automated financial reports.
• Exemplary attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships within the Finance department, other departments and with external partners.
• Ability to handle financial information with discretion.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask, and manage various priorities and projects in a deadline-oriented environment.
