| Description: | WNET is seeking an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual with an interest in marketing and event planning to serve as Coordinator in the Community Relations Department. The Community Relations Department expands the footprint of WNET by forming strategic partnerships, developing targeted events, and creating cross-promotional marketing opportunities with allied institutions. The department includes the Community Relations, Annual Gala Salute and Volunteer Resources units. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community Relations Coordinator will provide administrative and project support to a four person team. Specific responsibilities include: • Provide general administrative support including management of filing systems, data entry, maintaining station calendar, processing of contracts and invoices • Provide event planning support including invitation design and approval; RSVP tracking; place card and name tag creation; vendor relations; maintenance of event records for final reports and presentations • Provide on-site event support including set-up, check-in, and other logistical details as assigned • Research new vendors • Work closely with social media team on promotional initiatives • Research partnership opportunities • The Community Relations Coordinator may also assume specific specialized assignments depending on particular strengths and talents To qualify, candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience and at least one year experience in an administrative support role. The successful candidate will need strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ease and professionalism on the phone, in writing, and in person; excellent understanding of business etiquette, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Additional requirements: • Proficiency in MS Office with special strength in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Constant Contact, MassTransit, and fundraising databases ( TeamApproach or Raiser's Edge) is preferred • Basic understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter) • Available evenings and weekends for event support as assigned |
